About Victoria selden, psyd

Find peace, clarity, and relief from anxiety and trauma.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck, you’re not alone. Many of my clients remember a time when life felt easier and more manageable, but now those moments feel far away. You may wish you had the tools to feel grounded again.

 You’re in the right place.

I’m Dr. Victoria Selden, a Clinical Psychologist based in the heart of downtown Concord, Massachusetts, specializing in trauma therapy, anxiety treatment, and helping individuals heal from past experiences that continue to affect their present lives. I currently offer in person sessions in my office in Concord as well as online therapy for clients anywhere in Massachusetts who are seeking support, clarity, and meaningful change.

As a trauma and anxiety specialist, I help clients build emotional resilience and self trust. My therapeutic approach blends practical, here and now tools with deeper insight oriented work. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you develop coping skills and manage current stress, while psychodynamic therapy supports the deeper exploration of long standing emotional patterns and the roots of your symptoms. I also utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, an evidence-based treatment for trauma, and integrate principles of IFS therapy to help you understand what is driving your symptoms and shift patterns that no longer serve you.

I believe therapy should feel supportive, collaborative, and personalized. Your history and goals are unique, which is why every step we take together is tailored specifically to you. Whether you’re seeking trauma counseling, anxiety therapy, or a space to reconnect with yourself, my goal is always to help you move forward with clarity, confidence, and compassion.

If you’re ready to start feeling like yourself again, I’m here to help you take that next step.

please Hear me when I say:

You are not broken. Your body and mind have simply learned to protect you in ways that once made sense. But those same patterns can start to feel like a cage and are no longer serving you.

How I work

I combine practical tools with deeper therapeutic work so you can experience real, lasting change.
In each session, we’ll focus on what you need in the moment while also working at the root of what’s causing your distress.

I use a blended approach that includes:

  • EMDR to help you reprocess painful experiences and reduce the emotional charge they carry.

  • IFS principles to understand and support the parts of you that carry fear, pain, or protection.

  • Psychodynamic insight to explore where patterns began and why they persist.

  • CBT strategies for day-to-day relief, helping you manage thoughts, reactions, and anxiety more effectively.

Together, we build skills for the present and do the deeper work necessary for long-term healing.
