Victoria Selden, PysD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist
EMDR Therapist

Welcome to my practice. I am glad you are here.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and trauma-informed therapist. I work from the understanding that unresolved trauma, especially from early life, can shape how we think, feel, and relate to others in the present. I am particularly effective in working with individuals who feel overwhelmed and stuck or caught in patterns of behavior or reactivity that don't serve them. My passion lies in helping high achieving adults move beyond anxiety and disconnection, find freedom and agency in their lives, and develop more authentic and fulfilling ways of responding to themselves and connecting with others. My goal is to support clients in no longer being held back by the impacts of their past.

My therapeutic approach blends evidence-based treatments including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with insight-oriented, relational work rooted in Psychodynamic Therapy. This integration allows for both symptom relief and deep, lasting change.

I understand that managing current life challenges while processing past pain can feel overwhelming. That’s why I offer a compassionate, supportive, and personalized approach. Working collaboratively, we will identify the root causes of distress and develop effective, long-term strategies for growth and healing.

Services

Individual Therapy

I offer 50 minute psychotherapy sessions on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. These sessions are offered virtually as well as in person in my office in Acton, MA.  The frequency and duration of therapy are adjusted and will meet your on going therapy needs. EMDR therapy can can be a part of ongoing individual therapy if appropriate.

Adjunct EMDR Therapy

I offer adjuct EMDR therapy which is a short term, focused use of EMDR offered in colllaboration with a client's primary therapist.

This approach is designed to target specific traumatic memories or emotional blocks that may be hindering progress in ongoing therapy. The client continues their work with their primary therapist while temporarily receiving EMDR sessions to help process distressing experiences more efficiently.

EMDR Intensives

EMDR intensive are extended and focused therapy sessions typically lasting 3-6 hours and sometimes multiple times a week. They are designed to accelerate trauma processing and healing more quickly than traditional talk therapy.

About Dr. Selden

cropped headshot_edited.jpg

Hi, I'm Dr. Victoria Selden. Welcome.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with training from Middlebury College and William James College. I work with adults who are navigating the lasting effects of early experiences, as well as mood and anxiety disorders, identity concerns, and major life transitions.

My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration. I draw from evidence-based therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while integrating relational psychodynamic and Internal Family Systems (IFS) perspectives to explore the deeper roots of distress. I also have training in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) through Psychedelic Therapy Boston, which informs my understanding of how healing and transformation can unfold in different ways.

I work from a multicultural and trauma-informed lens, with deep respect for how culture, identity, and environment shape emotional well-being. As a bilingual and bicultural clinician, I offer therapy in both English and Spanish, and I am committed to creating an inclusive, supportive space where every part of you is welcome.

Who I Help

As a psychologist, I support individuals who are ready to better understand themselves, find relief from emotional distress, and create meaningful change. My work is collaborative and grounded in evidence based approaches, tailored to meet each person where they are are at.

Specialties

Anxiety and Stress

If you're feeling stuck in worry, overthinking, or constant tension, you are not alone. Together, we will explore what is driving your anxiety and learn ways to calm your mind and body. My goal is to help you feel more grounded and at ease so you can move through life with greater peace.

EMDR and Trauma Therapy

Sometimes the past lingers in ways we don't fully understand expressing itself through anxiety, emotional triggers or feelings of disconnection. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps you safely process those memories so they no longer have the same hold on you. Healing is possible.

Sleep and Insomnia (CBT-I)

Struggling with sleep can make everything harder. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), we will look at what is keeping you awake. With small steady changes, you can rebuild a healthy sleep rhythm and finally get the rest you need. Most patients see improvements in a just a few weeks of this 6-8 program.

Ketamine Therapy Integration

Psychedelic or ketamine assisted therapy can open deep insights and emotions that take time to unpack. Integration work offers space to process those experiences with intention. The goal is to turn insight into growth and meaningful life change. I will help you stay grounded as you make sense of what is unfolding.
